Trick or Treat Blog Hop

Welcome to the Trick or Treat Hop hosted by Creations With Kathryn  .   You should be arriving here from Jen P http://roxybonds-scrappin.blogspot.com/  If you just happened to find us, then please start back with http://www.creationswithkathryn.com/  Make sure you start with her blog so you can hit all the wonderful projects along the way!

I used the new seasonal inks by Tim Holtz to create a fun little card.   It is a large tag size, so we will tie it to a bag of treats for a little gift.

Recipe:
  • The skeleton was stamped with Versamark on glossy paper to create a resist with the purple Seedless Preserves.   Stamp the versamark then cover the sheet with ink.  Wipe off the image using a cloth.
  •  The orange is glossy paper with Ripe Persimmon and the stamp and edging is Gathered Twigs.
  • The date stamp is just a general date stamp from somewhere
I used all the seasonal colors to see how they worked together!   Making your own paper colors is the best way to match tones when it comes to Tim Holtz.

To do the sentiment, I inked up my paper and fingers.  I guess now someone will have my prints forever!

Stop back by tomorrow for a new project in the hop!

For now, your next stop is Patricia  http://www.shortnscrappy.com/

Trick or Treat to you!

Welcome to Upcycle Blog Hop

Welcome to the Upcycle Blog Hop!  You should be arriving here from Brie's Blog  If you just happened to come across my blog today then make sure that you start at the beginning...  Tanya T~

For my project, I had to grab an old one.  There was a glue incident.  My hope is to get a fancy new project up during the day after a new run to the store.  Things are going to go my way darn it!

Can you guess what this is?!?!?

Culvers cup...

The cupcake wrapper is 3 1/4" cut from the Cindy Loo Cricut cartridge.  Cindy Loo is not the cart you would think of for cupcake wrappers, so I wanted to make sure I showed it.  This one doesn't come with that shadow, so I just used some scrap to perk it up.  That is the same cut/size on both projects.  The cupcake is spa socks and a pom pom....a warm, fuzzy cupcake!
Hope you enjoyed the project even if it was a rewind!  Your next stop is Faith   I am sure she will "knock your socks off" too!

The numbers were 2, then 10 which means.....

really clever idea for a card and the color choices for the mug look very realistic

Please contact me and I will pop the card in the mail!  I want to talk with you to make sure it is a card you can use.  :)

So, I am the big winner though.  I got 2 carts yesterday.  PLUS....  A PINK EXPRESSION!!!  I don't really know if I should keep it.  I have an Expression and I use the Create the most.  I not a pink girl, but that Expression actually seems like one of the few "limited" ones.  I am such a sucker for "limited time" and really a sucker for a good deal.  It was only $179.....  So, should I keep it?!?!?!

Autumn is Here Blog Hop ~ Day 1

Welcome to the Autumn Blog hop!  You should be arriving here from Kathryn....which makes me the number two girl today!  Kathryn did a wonderful job putting together this hop.  Please start at the beginning www.creationswithKathryn.com

So, anyone that knows me will attest to the fact that I am absolutely not "earthy natural" and most definitely not "domestic".  I like living 2 minutes from Starbucks, and I loved working at the steel mill.  These 2 things alone bar me from ever being considered a true bohemian..... unless of course they put a Starbucks in Bohemia, then I could relocate and become a REAL Bohemian.   I did google to see if there was a Starbucks in Bohemia...too bad the site is in Cyrillic.  I can read Cyrillic by the way.  And  my parents said that I would never use the Russian I learned in college.... the Starbuck's site for the Czech Republic was not in Russian, so they might have been right about that one.

Anyway, NOT earthy....free spirited, a little grungy hippy style, but absolutely NOT EARTHY.  So, it is of great surprise to everyone (including myself) that I have begun canning vegetables.  There is something wholesome and simple about this whole process,  and I am enjoying it immensely.  That is what inspired the simple card which is a far stretch from my style.

Incidentally, I am blaming the whole canning thing on Stepford....that can be the only logical answer.

Welcome Viva Las VegaStamps!

I have said it before, and I will say it again Viva Las VegaStamps completely rock!!

If you are ever looking for something out of the box, this is the place to go.  Gigi and I have spent hours going through the store laughing and getting some inspiration!  If your looking for a blog that has everything from flowers to steampunk....never a dull moment at the VLV Blog!

My challenge today was to come up with something completely cool to impress them.  You see....  I MUST be on this design team.  Yes, it is a MUST.  Why?  Well, because it is the coolest store ever...  They sell a cool grab bag....  A Pound Of RUBBER  I purchased one and got about 95 fun and unusual stamps!  I would recommend it as a serious pick me up on a dull day.  I used a couple of those today.

I wanted to use a couple different techniques and stamps.
Bear with me...we have some stuff going on!

Background:
Skull:
Indian:
  • Background stamp inked with Versamark Dazzle Ink
  • VLV Mohawk guy inked with Barn door and stamped onto the background stamp
  • Stamp the background on WHITE glossy cardstock and let dry
  • Rub Tim Holtz Faded Jean Ink and buff again
I wouldn't really call my style steampunk.  Honestly, what would you call it?
I think I will call it hippy grunge and start my own little trend!

I know it is kind of odd.  It is 3 random guys wishing a Happy Birthday....
Kind of like the 3 stooges gone horribly wrong!  BUT...my brother will love it...

Please hop on over to Viva Las VegaStamps  You WILL NOT be disappointed!  I absolutely promise that they have something for everyone's style!  Promise!

So, wish me luck on the design team.  Hopefully, VLV will think it is cool too!

The Beginning of School Blog Hop

Welcome to the Beginning of School Blog Hop!

Thanks to Kathryn for hosting this one.  Start at the beginning http://www.creationswithkathryn.com/  You will want to see every stop because these ladies rock!

You should be landing here from Monica at Scraps to Treasure
The beginning of school brings me mixed emotions....DEFINITELY.  While I am happy to have a minute of time to myself, I admit that I miss the little demons all day!  Plus, none of my kids want to go back at all!  In fact, they all hate it and are all depressed about it.  It is a tradition that I tuck something in their backpack to cheer them up.

I would love to take credit for the card, but it is not mine at all.  I mean....I made it, but it was in a class I took today.  The design is from Jennifer McGuire, and I really love it very much.  I came home and decided to add a bus to it.  It looked lame.  It is a fabulous card without anything I add....LOL!  The primaries are perfect and remind me of school.
These are Ranger Inks, Hero Arts Stamps, and glimmer mist.

Now onto your next stop......Sigrid http://lovescrapreflect.blogspot.com/
